With the summer transfer window opening soon, there will be a massive player turnover at Celtic this summer as expected. Celtic could add Premiership experience to their squad this summer and in this article we will look at 3 players from the Scottish Premiership we could target. They might not and probably won’t all come to fruition but we think these three players could be on Celtic’s shortlist this summer.
3. BENJAMIN SIEGRIST

The Swiss goalkeeper has been without doubt the second best goalkeeper this season in the Scottish Premiership producing exceptional performances week in week out and has been a massive part of Dundee United‘s strong return to the top flight. The 29 year-old has kept 12 clean sheets this season and some of his performances have caught the eye of Celtic‘s scouts after going to watch him on several occasions this season. The Swiss shot-stopper has been fantastic in all three games against Celtic this season, in particular the final one at Tannadice which secured Rangers the title, making save after save and was definitely the standout player on the pitch on that day. With the uncertainty surrounding the goalkeeping position at Parkhead, the 6ft4 goalkeeper is one that Celtic could look to sign this summer after impressing this season.
2. JOSH DOIG

The 18 year-old has been absolutely brilliant in his breakthrough season at Hibs which has earned him a new 2 year-deal at Hibs amid interest from top teams all over the UK such as Arsenal and Celtic. He has played a large chunk of the Edinburgh‘s side games this season making 25 appearances, creating 4 assists and getting in on the act once. That isn’t counting his wonder-strike in a pre-season friendly against the Hoops at Celtic Park which even at the time made people sit up and take notice of the youngster. He’s been a breath of fresh air for the Hibees‘ this season taking up a first team position and managing to get past Hibs legend Lewis Stevenson in the pecking order. His dynamic, enthusiastic and energetic play is something that could really interest the Celts this summer in their pursuit of a new left-back.
1. LEWIS FERGUSON

Now, we know what most people are thinking, but hear us out. The young 21 year-old is exactly what Celtic need in their midfield. He is the perfect replacement for Scott Brown, a robust, energetic central midfield player who not only gets involved in goals but can do defensive duties as well. Ferguson might be going out the Pittodrie door at the end of the season and with Scott Brown going in most likely to start every week, it could be a great time to go and get Ferguson. From the central midfield area, Ferguson has scored 8 goals this season (more than Turnbull, Christie, Rogic, Brown and McGregor) and has contributed 4 times as well which is one area that he needs to add to his game. His tenacity to get around the pitch and his real combative nature may well impress Celtic chiefs which means he could end up in the door at Celtic Park this summer. He is certainly a player worth watching.
